Orange, Thyme & Maple Salmon

Today we are looking at Salmon – what a beautiful piece of fish!

It is an excellent source of high-quality protein, vitamins and minerals (including potassium, selenium and vitamin B12) but it is the content of Omega-3 fatty acids that receives the most attention, and rightly so. It is this essential fat which is responsible for oily fish’s reputation as a valuable ‘brain food’. Fantastic and all on a Greenplate® Hotplate!

Orange, Thyme & Maple Salmon
  • 160 gms Raw Salmon
  • 1 Juice and Rind of an Orange
  • 1 tbsp Sugar Free Maple Syrup
  • 1 tbsp Thyme Leaves
  • Salt & Pepper
  1. Heat the hotplate on your barbecue to medium heat, (wait for it to warm up before placing fish on hotplate or it will stick)

  2. Place salmon on the hotplate, cook 2-3 minutes each side depending on the size and thickness of your fish.

  3. When colour changes to just over halfway - flip fish and cook for 2 minutes

  1. Mix all ingredients and pour over salmon

Solar Standalone Electric BBQ’s

Greenplate are the first to develop a fully standalone electric park BBQ that can also run lighting and provide power for parks where previously unattainable. The first Solar Electric BBQ was commissioned back in 2001 at the Kingston Butter Factory in Logan City. This BBQ is still in operation with the original battery system.

The Solar Stand Alone BBQ was also awarded a Good Design Award in 2017 and featured on the Television Series Australia By Design Innovation on Network 10. The BBQ was judged against a number of fantastic Australian Inventions ultimately making it to the final episode.

The Solar Standalone BBQ comes with all the benefits and features of the Greenplate Inbench BBQ Unit with cooking temperatures of up to 400 degrees being achieved whilst still maintaining the products energy efficiency.

A large battery bank is neatly held inside the Stainless Steel BBQ Bench with enough autonomy to still function in poor weather conditions.

Greenplate also offer to options regarding the solar modules; highly efficient sun power glass modules or vandal resistant thin film solar modules which laminate in between the roofing profile.

These thin film solar modules are perfect for installation in public spaces due to the integrated system it removes temptation of theft. If people don’t know what it is they are less likely to steal it….

MiaSolé Thin Film Solar Modules

Are you looking for a solar power solution that will withstand vandalism, hail damage and look architecturally pleasing?

Greenplate can now offer the range of MiaSolé thin film solar modules in various sizes and power outputs. These modules are perfect for installations where facing the panels north is not feasible, these flexible modules can still function efficiently due to the high conversion rate in low light scenarios.

Another key aspect regarding this technology is the difference in weight compared to traditional glass and racking systems. Therefore these panels can be floated onto water for solar pumping solutions or even installed over canvas pop top caravans.

The possibilities are endless with the MiaSolé modules in providing solar power solutions that weren’t previously possible with Glass Modules.

Contact Greenplate to discuss the range of MiaSolé modules and we can come up with a solar solution to meet your energy requirements no matter the situation.

Project – Kirra On The Beach Apartments

Greenplate® were tasked with replacing and upgrading the old gas BBQ area at Kirra on the Beach Apartments.

The original gas BBQ needed to be taken away and the internal brickwork inside the bench had to be removed to allow access for the Greenplate BBQ’s Fat Bin and Digital Temperature Module. Greenplate also had to custom manufacture a stainless steel shroud with a 490mm square cut out to allow for the simple installation of the new BBQ, signage and the push button switch.

This was all achieved in 1 day by our installation team allowing for minimal downtime of the apartments communal cooking facilities. The new BBQ unit will now provide energy efficient cooking for holiday goers and residents with temperatures being able to exceed that of the original gas BBQ, ensuring a fantastic cooking experience.
