Solar Barbecue in Newcastle City Council – You’ll Love It!

Newcastle City Council Solar Standalone BBQ

In 2017 Greenplate were pleased to supply a Single Solar Standalone Electric BBQ to Newcastle City Council.

From first discussions it was understood that running power to the site would be completely un feasible and out of the councils park upgrade budget. Greenplate were able to solve this issue by using our standalone solar powered system to run the energy efficient BBQ.

Greenplate’s Solar Standalone Electric BBQ system can also provide shelter lighting, USB charging ports and pumping stations. On this project we utilised our thin film technology. This allow for an integrated roof and solar panel combination. The laminated thin film technology provides a vandal resistant option compared to normal glass modules. The thin film technology also detects lower levels of light. This provides better conversion of sun to power in afternoons or when sunlight is not directly on the panel.

This product received a Good Design Award in 2017 and also featured on the Chanel 10 Series Australia by Design Innovation and voted through to the finals by various expert judges.

Greenplate first invented the Solar Electric BBQ back in 2001 installing the first for Logan City Council at the Kingston Butter Factory.

This solar BBQ is still in operation with no system failures or replacement parts required in the last 18 years.

Reliability is Key. All of Greenplates’ products are strictly tested prior to dispatch from our Brisbane Warehouse. Customers can be assured of a trouble free experience for years to come.

Project – Gympie – Main St Bud Lighting

Throughout the Main Street of Gympie Queensland there are a number of alfresco dining options. This allows the locals and tourists alike to enjoy outdoor entertainment. Covering the large trees along the street are a number of lighting displays creating a vibrant and peaceful setting.

Greenplate® were tasked with providing a power solution to light up the trees.

The biggest issue Gympie Regional Council were facing was having to dig up the road and traffic islands to gain power which would have caused major disruptions.

However, Greenplate® were able to design Solar Poles which housed the batteries and controller. The solar modules were installed on top giving the look of a normal Solar Street Light. The cable was then directed from the pole to the lights in the trees therefore lighting up Main Street, Gympie.

This enabled a cost effective solution for council to be able to provide the decorative tree lighting for the shire.

Contact Greenplate for more information or to design a solar solution for your application.

Project – South Stockholm

A recent installation took place in the beautiful city of Stockholm Sweden.

Our Swedish Distributors Park O Grill – Sverige – provided this double BBQ solution to replace the existing Coal BBQ’s.

The two Greenplate hotplates will now provide an energy efficient cooking solution for the park in South Sweden and no more smoke pollution is being produced by the Coal BBQ.

We have had nothing but positive feedback from people using the BBQ’s and are amazed out how well the hotplates cook.

Greenplate are extremely proud to be sending our Australian invention across the world and being able to allow people to experience The Australian BBQing Culture in their own backyard.

Aldinga Beach – Adelaide

This is one of the few beaches in Australia where cars are permitted to drive on sections of the broad sand. It makes access to the beach (renowned for its safe swimming and impressive surf) especially easy.

Aldinga Beach is also a top spot for scuba diving and snorkelling, with the beach overlooking a unique aquatic reserve established to protect a rare reef formation. An underwater trail includes a spectacular drop-off or underwater cliff. Unlike other dives in South Australia you can swim among rock pinnacles extending from the sea floor to just below the surface. A boat ramp provides easy access to the water.

Greenplate® are proud to have worked alongside Onkaparinga Council in providing excellent cooking facilities along this amazing beachfront and we look forward to further developments in this area.
