Newcastle City Council Solar Standalone BBQ

In 2017 Greenplate were pleased to supply a Single Solar Standalone Electric BBQ to Newcastle City Council.

From first discussions it was understood that running power to the site would be completely un feasible and out of the councils park upgrade budget. Greenplate were able to solve this issue by using our standalone solar powered system to run the energy efficient BBQ.

Greenplate’s Solar Standalone Electric BBQ system can also provide shelter lighting, USB charging ports and pumping stations. On this project we utilised our thin film technology. This allow for an integrated roof and solar panel combination. The laminated thin film technology provides a vandal resistant option compared to normal glass modules. The thin film technology also detects lower levels of light. This provides better conversion of sun to power in afternoons or when sunlight is not directly on the panel.

This product received a Good Design Award in 2017 and also featured on the Chanel 10 Series Australia by Design Innovation and voted through to the finals by various expert judges.

Greenplate first invented the Solar Electric BBQ back in 2001 installing the first for Logan City Council at the Kingston Butter Factory.

This solar BBQ is still in operation with no system failures or replacement parts required in the last 18 years.

Reliability is Key. All of Greenplates’ products are strictly tested prior to dispatch from our Brisbane Warehouse. Customers can be assured of a trouble free experience for years to come.
